Journal Entry #1
The price to stay connected using your cell phone has been a constant incline until recent events. The two leading cell phone carriers, AT&T and Verizon have announced dramatic price cuts. Verizon being the first to announce that they were going to drop there prices almost in half; AT&T following not to far behind. The recent changes are the result of a struggling economy. However, not everyone gets to see the effects of this plan in their pockets. Only subscribers with an unlimited plan will be able to save money when this goes into effect. The only question left is if this will spill over into the rest of the markets, particularly into the world of smart phones.

Courtney,
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that cell phones companies are making these drastic price cuts. This is an interesting piece of information because I am a Verizon carrier. I wonder how long it will take for myself and others to see the effects.
Due to the economy I’ve seen a lot of different markets offer discounts to consumers. I think the only problem is that the average day person doesn't hear about these offers and not to mention the limitations, agreements, standards etc. all usually have a catch. On the other hand, I could be wrong considering I’m only 21 and at a higher risk in most cases. However, I still think it’s great to see more companies step in and start helping the everyday person. I feel if more companies started to take this approach the economy would see at least a slight impact.

ReplyDeleteMistakes
• This doesn't make sense: The price... has been a constant incline... . Do you mean prices have been steadily rising until recently?
• Missing comma after Verizon
• Incomplete sentence: Verizon being the first to announce that they were going to drop there prices almost in half
• Misspelled their
• Should be too, not to

Also, write in third person, not first or second. Do not use "you" in a news story. Much of this summary needs to be attributed as it sounds like opinion.
Courtney,
ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting. Does it say how long the price cuts will take to go into effect? Is sprint going to drop their prices also?
